Aloe Vera

A succulent plant species found in tropical, semi-tropical, and arid climates around the world. Almost everyone knows Aloe as it has been used for thousands of years to soothe, soften and moisturize skin.


Bioflavonoids, also known as flavonoids, are one of the most common compounds in the human diet. There are over 5,000 bioflavonoids found in citrus, herbs, vegetables, chocolates, and fruits! It is well documented that bioflavonoids provide preservative and antimicrobial activity while still being non-toxic to humans. Our bioflavonoids come from the skin of a citrus fruit grown in Murcia, Spain.


Calendula is an edible perennial plant used in many products for purposes of soothing and reducing inflammation. Plant pharmacological studies have suggested that Calendula extracts have antiviral, antigenotoxic, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Chamomile is a daisy-like plant that has been consumed in teas for hundreds of years. It is believed to have calming, anti-anxiety properties when ingested and skin soothing properties when applied topically.

Clove Extract

An essential oil extracted from the clove plant typically found in Madagascar and Indonesia. Clove extract has been used by dentist for many years to provide temporary oral relief. Clove is also used as a spice and natural flavoring.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid, also known as Hyaluronan, naturally occurs in our body and plays a huge role in tissue regeneration and wound repair. As a major component of the skin, Hyaluronic Acid is extremely beneficial to skin and wound care. Hyaluronic acid helps wounds heal faster by regulating inflammation levels and signaling for the body to build more blood vessels in a damaged area. Applied to skin wounds, hyaluronic acid has been shown to reduce the size of wounds and decrease pain faster than a placebo or no treatment at all. Hyaluronic acid also has antibacterial properties, so it can help reduce the risk of infection when directly applied to open wounds. Furthermore, hyaluronic acid is effective at helping combat gum disease, helping speed up healing after tooth surgery, and helping eliminate ulcers when used topically in the mouth. Hyaluronic Acid is also an excellent skin moisturizer.

Lactic Acid

Lactic Acid is not always a milk derived product like lactose. The Lactic Acid we source is actually vegan - it is produced through the fermentation of carbohydrates such as sucrose, glucose, or beet juice. Our lactic acid's main source is from sugar cane. Used to lower the pH of formulations, lactic acid is also a well known disinfectant.


When nursing from mothers' milk, infants are receiving large amounts of lactose. Sweet in taste, lactose is a safe choice as a carrier for quick dissolving tablets intended for babies since most infants already receive much greater amounts while naturally nursing.


Lanolin is the natural wax found on the wool of sheep. It helps in the shedding of water from their wool coats and also protects their skin from the environment. Lanolin has been shown to be superior to petrolatum in reducing symptoms of dry, cracking, and itching skin thanks to its ability to protect and moisturize the skin. When obtaining the lanolin from the sheep during sheering of the wool coat, in no way is the sheep harmed. Infact, the sheering is beneficial to the sheep! Without the wool being removed from the sheep, the sheep may become immobilized and have other health problems!

Lemon Balm Extract

Lemon Balm is a plant in the mint family that has been used for over 2,000 years in traditional medicine. Swiss physician and alchemist, Paracelsus, deemed it the “elixir of life.” It has been shown to improve sleep quality - pediatric patients have displayed improvement in restlessness and dyssomnia with the ingestion of lemon balm extract; further evidence has demonstrated a significant reduction in levels of insomnia. Lemon balm is also commonly associated with anti-stress and anti-anxiety.

Shea Butter

A natural fat that is extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. Shea is a great moisturizer, and is therefore great on dry skin.


Originating in South America, the Stevia Plant and its extract provides a sweet taste without the added calories. Stevia contains no sugar, but infact, Stevia is 300 times sweeter than sugar! This means that only a very small amount is needed to add a touch of sweetness to a product. Used all over the world, Stevia is one of the safest choices for no-calorie and sugar free sweetners. Stevia leaf extract is also a tooth-friendly sweetener because it does not ferment or produce acids that eat away at teeth, as noted by The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

Valerian Root

Valerian is a plant native to Europe and Asia that has sweet smelling pink or white flowers. Commonly found in supplements, Valerian helps assist in promoting a good sleep. The history of Valerian use for sleep goes all the way back to ancient Greece and Rome, where it was used for insomnia.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E occurs naturally in many foods consumed in the daily diet such as nuts and vegetables. Having great health benefits, Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can help protect cells from damage when used orally as well as topically. When used topically in skin products for moisturizing, Vitamin E helps reduce itching due to dry skin. Oral use of Vitamin E is said to help support immune function and reduce the aging of cells.
